Thanks for a great time on the first North QLD AAA camp. It really was  an enjoyable week with a great bunch of people and easily the best  training I have done in Australia. The week has definitely helped me  prepare well for Kona. I will be back in the future for sure!

Cheers

My bicycle and I returned fitter, wiser and inspired after this fantastic week away.  We were challenged but we were also spoiled.  We must have peddled through some of the most beautiful places in the world, we took on the wind through tiny country towns in the Atherton Tablelands, we climbed the mountain ranges and we ventured into the Daintree Rainforest.  We soothed our legs in crisp mountain streams, we swam in streams, lakes, pools and beaches.  Our tummies were constantly treated and the local hospitality was wonderful.  It was a tough training camp and I know that in Hawaii I'll reflect on a few moments from the week to get me through.

"Last year I was provided with an amazing opportunity to train in far North QLD, up on the Atherton Tablelands with Scott Penny and his group from AAA Fitness. This was in preparation for the 2005 Hawaiian Ironman. I spent a week in a training camp based in the Cairns Highlands around Lake Tinaroo. What an experience & adventure - beautiful crystal clear lakes to swim in, long open country roads that wound up and over the mountains or through the heartland of the Atherton, and fantastic forests and open country dirt roads to run on. This training camps for anyone that wants spectacular scenery, rides that take you up to the highest point in QLD, great coffee shops & food, some interesting wildlife, perfect weather conditions in preparation for Hawaii or just to get away from the unpredictable conditions in the south, and not a sound at night, other than the odd camp fire and millions of stars to view. The whole experience was well organised and offered fantastic facilities for accommodation and training. I would endorse this camp 100%."
