Flexible Schedule
Saturday 5th.
A lazy day for our new arrivals. Breakfast at the famous Wievel Bakery, unpack, short rest, then maybe a short ride, run or swim in the lake ? No records broken today but strongly reccommend moving the body and staying awake till evening sleep if possible. Very important to get into the new time zone as soon as possible. A big sleep straight up will throw out your clock for 2-3 days. Plus there is so much to see and so little time.
Sunday 6th.
A chance for solid bike ride today, between 80-100k. Steady pace and more of a sightseeing trip. In the afternoon we will head down to the Lake Sempachersee for a wetsuit swim, followed by a short flat run. Coffee of course will be had in the town centre of Sursee before returning to base.
Monday 7th.
Morning Swim session / Lake Sempach. Early start. We have some bouys set out for us to navigate and create a solid swim set. Home for brekky and then a little tourist time with a trip into the gorgeous city of Lucerne just a 30mins train ride away.
Afternoon run along the lake approx 60 80 mins.
Tuesday 8th.
Bike 70k easy into the Swiss Capital of Bern. We can have a swim in the cool river, take some lunch or just chill & check out this great city. Train back to Sursee, a simple and convenient option in Switzerland.
Afternoon Short, sharp pool set, followed by easy run.
Wednesday 9th.
Early start for train into Zurich.
We set out on the bikes for a look at the hilly section of the course. As the route has changed to 2 laps of 90k we recommend avoiding the flat, busy lake section and focussing on a look at the major climbs and descents to ease your mind before race day. A wetsuit swim over race course can serve as a recovery from our ride.
Whilst in Zurich today we have the opportunity to check in at registration and avoid the crowds later in the week.
